I got a copy of the first issue of Newtype USA today. I'm quite impressed with it so far. I'd flipped through the japanese version a few times, but of course could never understand any of it. It's just over 190 pages, printed on a heavier weight paper from the feel of it, and in a larger size than most US magazines. The cover price is $9.95, which might seem a little high at first, but isn't really considering things like the preview DVD it comes with and the quality of the magazine in general. Oh, and it also has some cool postcards with images from RahXephon.
On the content side, the magazine looks pretty good so far. Though, it's a bit odd getting used to the magazine being printed backwards. It is one thing reading manga that way as it was originally printed in that format. Oh, and for information about the magazine you can check out their web site.
