Showing up on a few places in the last day is posts pointing to the origin of the term 'SPAM' (boingboing and jenett.radio being the ones I'm seeing at the moment). I was around in those early days of MUDing and remember seeing people chanting 'SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM' (as do probably more than a few people reading this).
