Chris posts about PETA over on her LiveJournal. It seems that PETA is endorsing a line of fake leather S&M gear.
picture the serious newsman. he stares straight into the camera - lips wriggling - and says "PETA has endorsed a new line of non-leather S&M gear. they tout the line as being (beat) 'cruelty-free'"
And, from the PETA page on this:
The scantily clad protesters plan to show sophisticated consumers that real beauty is far more than skin deep. "By showing some of our skin, we hope to save animals' skins," says "dominatrix" Lisa Franzetta. "With today's stylish and comfortable synthetics and faux leather, itâs easy to 'moo-ve' away from leather and leave the hides behind."
I'm wondering though, why they felt the need to put dominatrix in quotes. Is she not really a dominatrix?
