Kaze no Yojimbo 1 and Kasumin 1

If the past few weeks I sampled two shows I hadn't seen before, Kaze no Yojimbo and Kasumin. I enjoyed both of them, but I think I liked Kasumin a little bit more for its wackiness. Hopefully I'll get to see more of this one (though I want to see more of both).

The first episode Kaze no Yojimbo doesn't really tell us much. The main character arrives by train in a small town looking for someone to ask him a question. Beyond that, not a lot happens. He gets involved with some fights and seems to be quite skilled in hand to hand combat. The animation is really nice also. It almost reminds me of something like Bebop or RahXephon in the look, though not quite as bright. This one I'm really going to have to see a few more before I decide fully what I think of it.

Kasumin is just about the completely opposite of Kaze no Yojimbo. It is a kids show. It's insanely cute. It's about Kasumi, a young girl whose parents are going away for the year. While they're away she'll be staying with some friends of her parents, who end up being very strange magical beings. I honestly don't think anything I can say can do justice to how bizzare some of this show was to me. But I loved it, the talking washcloth rules.

Ha! Got ya with the Kasumin!

I'm stalled on Kaze no Yojimbo, simply due to lack of time, but I have it all on my PowerBook and I intend to watch it; I found the first couple eps pretty intriguing.
