{"id":1249,"date":"2002-04-30T16:37:18","date_gmt":"2002-04-30T16:37:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ezoons.com\/?p=1249"},"modified":"2002-04-30T16:37:18","modified_gmt":"2002-04-30T16:37:18","slug":"thoughts_on_liv","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ezoons.com\/?p=1249","title":{"rendered":"Thoughts on Live Journal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><P>I have a large number of friends who use <A href=\"http:\/\/www.livejournal.com\/\">LiveJournal<\/A> for their blogging\/journaling.&nbsp; I think they actually provide a pretty cool service and I like a lot of their community building things.&nbsp; At the same time, I find myself frustrated with parts of it.<\/P><\/p>\n<p \/><P>The biggest&nbsp;thing&nbsp;I get frustrated with is comments.&nbsp; Since many people on LJ are fairly anonymous, you can end up being on the friends list of people who you are at most only aquainted with.&nbsp; Even though you read these people&#8217;s posts every day, and they may feel comfortable with you reading them, they still aren&#8217;t someone you know face to face.&nbsp; So I find myself wondering just how acceptable it is to be responding to some people&#8217;s posts.<\/P><\/p>\n<p \/><P>The other thing I run into with comments is wondering how much I&#8217;d like to share with all the other people who can read comments on a post.&nbsp; In many cases I&#8217;d prefer to just email a response if it is a subject that is fairly personal.&nbsp; But sometimes it feels weird for me to be emailing things like that to a total stranger.<\/P><\/p>\n<p \/><P>Anyone else here use LJ?
