It was really good, and when looking through some other receipes for stuff like it I found this.  This morning a friend of mine had a kind of pot luck brunch and had people bring stuff over. This was perfect (and it came out soooo good).<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>French Toast Casserole<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<br \/>\n1 loaf French bread or Challah<br \/>\n8 large eggs<br \/>\n3 cups whole milk<br \/>\n4 teaspoons sugar<br \/>\n1 teaspoon vanilla<br \/>\n1\/4 teaspoon each cinnamon and nutmeg<\/p>\n<p>Topping:<br \/>\n2 sticks butter<br \/>\n1 cup light brown sugar<br \/>\n1 cup chopped pecans (optional)<br \/>\n2 tablespoons corn syrup (or maple syrup)<br \/>\n1 teaspoon cinnamon<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon nutmeg<\/p>\n<p>Grease a 13 by 9 inch pan.  Cut bread into 1 inch thick slices and arrange in baking dish, overlapping slices to fit, if necessary.<br \/>\nCombine eggs, milk, sugar and vanilla and spices until blended.<br \/>\nPour mixture over bread, making all is covered evenly.  Cover pan with foil and refrigerate overnight.<br \/>\nWhen ready to bake, preheat oven to 350.<br \/>\nSpread topping evenly over bread and bake, uncovered, for 40 &#8211; 50 minutes, or until puffy and lightly browned.<br \/>\nCan serve with additional maple syrup and bacon or sausage.<\/p>\n<p>Variations:   Could also sprinkle the top of the casserole with blueberries before baking or just sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the top instead of the topping <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Yum.
