To boldly go…
So I’m watching the new Star Trek show. I’m not sure what I think of it. It’s still moving kind of slow since they are just now getting into space. More later.

Okay, so I’m a geek
So I’m now running Mac OS X 10.1. So far I like it. It does feel a bit snappier. I haven’t tried playing a DVD with it yet, but I will be trying it out tonight! I could sit in bed and watch movies! -

Time Travel
So I bought a few CDs last weekend and have been listening to the Big Audio Dynamite one the most. Their first two discs came out while I was in college and I remember hearing their stuff on the radio all the time. I think I even had a bumpersticker on my door from the local radio station that would play it (WXXP, the station that DARES to be different. (long gone)). So now I’m on this kick to get some of the 80s/90s stuff that I loved. I think I partially blame Bree for that since the other day she was telling me about all these great old records she bought. -

Random Blogs
So I have a couple of random blogs that I look at every other day or so. They aren’t really people I know, for the most part they are blogs that had layouts that really caught my eye, or ones that I got bounced over to while reading another blog. I just added one more up to my list on the left for alexa. (Hmm, I hope she doesn’t mind. Do people mind if you just link to their blogs randomly?) -

Overwhelmed?
The last few weeks have been a bit stressful for me. First, there’s the whole lung thing. My immediate stress level isn’t quite as high as it was when I got reactivated on the list. At this point it has slowed down to just a nice level of stress that is always sitting in the back of my head (or maybe the pit of my stomach).
Then there are things like the WTC. Which still freaks me out a bit. I guess I keep waiting for what happens next. The thought of us going into combat kind of freaks me out.
Last but not least, is work stuff. Nimda has been hellish for me. It hit work pretty hard and we’re still recovering from it. Part of the problem is some of our servers have hundreds of thousands of files, so they take forever to scan. I think within the last day or so things are looking up. We got Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition, which blows McAfee away. I’m not usually really impressed with Windows software, but this is quite good.
So anyways. It just feels like it is all piling up. I really need to take some time off next week. Possibly the end of the week. Stress is just not a good thing for me these days. -

Nimda fallout starting?
So, at work we’re still feeling the bite of Nimda. Finding machines that were sitting in corners just working away that nobody knew of that are now horrendously infected. I see a lot of changes coming as far as how we run things where I work. Already though, news articles are popping up with places like the Gartner Group suggesting people look at other products (like Apache). -

I want one of these. I think it would be great to be able to have one of these I could just shove into my laptop bag for emergencies. -
So I know some of
So I know some of the people who stop by here have fairly popular blogs. So I have a question for those folks out there. Do you often get really weird random IMs or emails from people. I had this guy IM me yesterday and tell me to do a search for this weird string that just happened to have the word ‘ezoons’ in it. It looked like it had something to do with hacked sites or something like that. I was like “uh, so?” and he’d logged off already.
Oh, on a related note, and a few people have asked me where ezoons comes from. Well. I’ve had the nickname snooze for ages. Since end of high school at least. Part of me likes to think I was the first person going by ‘snooze’ on the net back in ’86. It’s early enough in the days of the net that it is possible, but sometimes it is so hard to tell. I know that for the longest time I could always get snooze as a login to things. Now it is much harder to do that. Which brings me to ezoons. When I finally got around to getting a personal domain name I had the hardest time figuring out what to do. I really wanted ‘snooze.com’ but it was taken (I think it was by some bedding company). So, in the end I just decided to turn it around to ezoons and it was available. So that’s it! I keep wanting to make www.ezoons.com into some kind of joke company page, but I haven’t quite figured out what to do with it yet. I need to come up with just what an ezoon is. Or maybe it is E-Zoons and I need to figure out what a ‘zoon’ is.
