    Notes on Changes
I’m curious at how the red on black works for links. It looks ok on the browsers I’ve checked in on, but that is only a few at this point. I need to see it from work on the machines I’ve got there to get more of a feel for it.

    Changes
So here it is, version 2.0 of life – listed chronologically. I still have a little work to do with the other pages of my site, but I thought I’d put this up in the meantime to see what people think of it. I’m pretty happy with it myself.

This morning I finally got an idea for a redesign of my page. Hopefully it will come out okay. Look for it in the next few days.

    Tim Powers
Okay, so I’m an idiot. I remember my friend John Leavitt mentioning him back when i was in High School, but I never got around to reading anything by him. Then, years later, friends of mine online were talking about him. I picked up Last Call a few weeks ago and just started reading it and am hooked.

I really need to pay more attention.

    House Music 101
I’m on a mailing list for ravers who have been around a while (in other words, old). One thing I absolutely love about it is that there are people on the list who have been around forever. They aren’t just ‘old skool’, they were there when the ‘skool’ was just being built. Here is a history of House music from one such individual. What I like about it is that it doesn’t just talk about the music. It talks about the people involved with the music, the communities the music was entwined with. It is one person’s journey through life and music. And I find myself always looking forward to every new chapter.

    Thanks Apollo!

  • In the beginning there was

In the beginning there was Jack and Jack had a groove…
and from this groove came the groove of all grooves. And while one day viciously throwing down on his box, Jack boldly declared, Let there be House, and House music was born. I am, you see, I am the creator, and this is my House, and in my House there is only House music. But I am not so selfish, because once you’ve entered my House, it then becomes our House and our House music.
and you see no one man owns House because house music is a universal language spoke and understood by all. You see, House is a feeling that no one can understand really, unless you’re deep into the vibe of House. House is an uncontrolable desire to Jack your body and as I told ya before this is our house, and our House music and every house you understand there is a keeper and in this house the keeper is Jack. Now some of you might wonder, who is Jack, and what is it that Jack does? Jack is the one who gives you the power to Jack your body. Jack is the one who gives you the power to do the snake. Jack is the one who give you the key to the wiggly worm. Jack is the one who learns you how you walk your body Jack is the one that can bring nations and nations of all Jackers together under one house. You may be black, you may be white, you may be Jew, or Gentile, it don’t make a difference in our house, and this is fresh.

(Sorry, couldn’t help myself. There’s something wonderful about waking up and putting on some house music.)

    SCORPIO (Oct 23-Nov 21) – Week of November 22, 2001
Going back to sleep might be tempting. Weeks have passed since your initiation into the brave new world. You may wonder whether you have the patience and discipline to keep dealing with the explosion of novelty. You could be in danger of becoming numb to the revelations that not so long ago changed everything forever. But I’m here to urge you to do whatever’s necessary to stay awake, Scorpio. Pinch yourself, spank yourself, whisper spontaneous poems to the mirror, scrawl sacred vows on your bedroom walls. Just don’t lose the primal motivating power of those supernova moments when you were reborn.
