    SCORPIO (Oct 23-Nov 21) – Week of January 10, 2002
What have you done lately for the environment? Have you fought to bolster clean water laws, lobbied against the toxic habits of corporate polluters, or raised your friends’ awareness about the rapid rate of species’ extinction? According to my reading of the coming year’s astrological omens, you will generate many selfish benefits by stoking your passionate concern for the health of our collective habitat. Uncoincidentally, 2002 will also be prime time for you to become extra conscientious about your personal habitat. Consider making plans to feng shui your home, treat your body with wild kindness, and summon all your creative artistry to spruce up your wardrobe.

    Tivo Series 2
TiVo just announced TiVo Series 2 the other day at some big show. It looks kind of interesting, with 2 USB ports, but they didn’t bother to put an ethernet port on it, you’ll have to use one of the USB ports for that. Right now I’m a little skeptical on it. I want to read reports on it before I even think of it. Supposedly the one that AT&T broadband is selling is a 30 hour Series 2 box.

    All Hail The King
On my way into work this morning I found out that yesterday was Elvis’ birthday. Happy Birthday Elivs, wherever you may be.

    Blogging Options
I am thinking that I might look at Movable Type. Yet another blogging program that I’ve heard good things about. I’ve seen a few sites that use it and they look quite nice. I’m still thinking about looking at Radio when it comes out for OS X, but I need to know more about it. For instance, I work on my laptop, but my web server is on my linux box. Does it work with linux? Can I do my work on my laptop and have it get sent to my linux box? etc.

Watch this space for more info as I figure it out.

    Snow!
[snowy car]Woo! Last night we got a little bit of snow. Not too much, and not as much as they were originally predicting. I don’t mind it when we get little bits of snow like this. But when we get much more, cleaning off my car is a pain in the neck. For medium amounts of snow I hop in my car with a book and start it up. I let the defrost blast for a bit and then it makes pushing the snow off more easy. For large amounts of snow I call someone from my network of friends to give me a hand. (Have I said lately how my friends kick ass?)

Anyway, I guess we’re really into winter now. Yay!

    The end of an era?
An era of what I’m not sure, but Dave Thomas, the voice of Wendy’s died last night at the age of 69.

(Note, I can’t seem to get into the wendy’s web site right now, but I checked around and that does seem to be the URL).

    Happy Palm Goodness
I finally found my pilot after hunting around for it for days. I had been wanting to try out syncing it via the IR port on my TiBook for a while. It took a little while, since it was my first sync and it had to back everything up, but it synced up just fine. Now I have a backup of my palm on my primary use computer.

The next step is waiting for the conduit to Entourage.

    A bit of badtz
[new futon cover]I hadn’t put up a picture in a few days so thought I’d toss something random up. Emily got it for me when she was travelling for work one time. I think she got it in china or something. But he’s been sitting at my desk ever since, helping to keep me slightly analog.

I love Badtz Maru stuff. I also got this great Badtz record bag they were selling for a bit. I was quite psyched to find that it was an actual, fully functional record bag. It gets comments many times when I bring it out to spin.
