    Don’t worry Blogger

You haven’t lost me completely.  There are still things I use Blogger for currently.  (1) my lung blog.  I don’t update this often, but will probably start to at some point. (2) my work blog.  Blogger still has the best tools for group blogs.  I haven’t found anything else that works quite as well for a group of people.  Yes, I could go and buy radio for all of them and have them use it for posting to their own pages and have a guide to them, but I think it’s harder to manage (and much more expensive).  I also think that Radio isn’t necessarily for everyone.

One thing I found much easier with Blogger is template management. Making my way through the various template files for Radio was definitely a bit trying.

    Radio ftp upstreaming

I figured out one problem with my ftp upstreaming. My linux box seems to be VERY slow responding when I ftp in from outside my firewall. My guess is that it is something in how that connection is being established. I’ve tried tweaking a few things and hopefully that will help.

    Run Down

Ugs. I feel so run down tonight. I think it’s going to be an early night to bed for me. I hate these days where I get home from work and I’m just tired. I have so much I want to do around my apartment and I just don’t have the energy for it. I need to go into work a little early tomorrow so that means I’ll get home early too. Hopefully I can get more done then. I want to put up some pictures of the new shelves.

    Google Rocks

I love google.  They just seem to have the right attitude.  They don’t even allow popup ads.

    The Next Step

My next step in my blog world is rethink how I blog.  For a while I have been struggling with just what I want my blog to be.  It’s kind of a mishmash of links I find interesting, my personal ramblings on blogs, thoughts on work and my life, etc.  One thought I had was to keep this blog exactly like it is.  But then also have a number of sub-blogs that are for things like links.  This way if people only care about seeing what I’m linking to, they can.

The cool thing about Radio is that when I post I can choose what categories a post goes into.  So the post ends up getting filtered out to one or more places, depending on what it has to do with.

    Trial Run

Here’s the trial run of running Radio for my blogging needs.  As of right now all my posts will go through Radio.  All my new archives will be accessable via the calendar to the right.  The archive section has all my old blogger archives, which I hope to be able to add into my Radio archives.  (I’m still waiting to find out if that is possible).

Let me know what you think.  Most things should look exactly the same.  My goal is to pull everything I use into radio as time goes on and let it handle all of my publishing needs.

Let me know what you think!

    Close to Live

This site is getting very close to going live.  The trick now is to find a way to import all my blogger posts from the last year, if that is doable at all.

    Time on my hands
I need a new alarm clock. The one I have has a few fatal flaws. The first of which is, the reset button is right next to the snooze button. Who the heck thought this was a good idea. Lately about half the time when I’m hitting my clock in the morning I hit that button. Which means, no more alarm. Twice in the last two weeks I’ve slept fairly late without even realizing it. The second flaw is that the alarm just isn’t enough to wake me up anymore. I need to get something different. Maybe a clock that pulls out a hammer and smacks me when it is time to get up.
