Radio Free GregorySo I’ve started
Radio Free Gregory
So I’ve started playing around a bit with Radio. It’s a blogging/content management tool that is pretty damn cool. For the time being I’m keeping a second blog for the purposes of playing with the software. My goal is to build it all into one set of pages in the end. Radio looks to be immensely powerful for doing this. I just haven’t had the time to look that deep into it. -
Mouse AttackIt seems to be
Mouse Attack
It seems to be happening a lot lately. People having mouse issues. A while back I think I posted about hearing some kind of critter in the middle of the night. Well last night I was finally getting around to cleaning up my bedroom. Sweeping out under the bed and all that (ugs dust). And I come across piles of little bits of paper and plastic. The critter had found a plastic bag with a bunch of papers in and and had a fun time chewing away at it. So now I’m wondering if this little guy is around and what he’s going to do now that he has no more stuff to snack on. -
Ever since that REM song
Ever since that REM song I’ve always wondered what philomath means.
Dictonary.com’s word of the day today is: philomath

Well,I think it may be
Well,
I think it may be finally working. I did two big pushes where I couldn’t before and they went through just fine. I may be cursing it by saying this, but if this goes through I’ll be a bit happier. -
Knowledge Management StuffEvan posted about
Knowledge Management Stuff
Evan posted about an article over at Business 2.0 about The Case Against Knowledge Management. It was an interesting read. Knowledge Management is something I’ve been getting very curious about lately. I’ve started up a K-log at work for my group and I think it has been pretty helpful. But I still think it isn’t quite perfect. I had some thoughts in my head to find a way to incorporate it into the help desk system I wrote at work, so that you could immeadiately drop information in from where you were entering it. -
Radio still kind of flakes
Radio still kind of flakes now and then when I am at work, but not as much as it does when I am at home. It’s still that annoying TCP error.

So I’m using Radio a
So I’m using Radio a little bit more now. I’m playing with it from work, since upstreaming seems to work just fine from there. Supposedly they are getting closer to fixing the problem with OS X that keeps me from publishing from home. One cool thing is that I bring my laptop into work every day and have it sitting on the work network. I just figured out today that I can access radio remotely from my PC, which is pretty damn cool.

[Adam Curry: CurryDotCom] writes “Last night I had an epiphany. I’ve been trying to solve the deluge of email coming into my life. Desperately trying to develop systems and flow to handle all this correspondence. Then it hit me. I need to change my own perception of mail. From today on I no longer equate email to an electronic version of my mailbox at home. I will regard email as Instant Messaging. Therefore, if I don’t respond, the message will scroll off the screen and the sender will have to re-send the message top get my attention. I no longer have an ‘Inbox”, but merely a current list of IM’s of people wanting my attention. Now to inform the world of my decision…. “
I work much the same way as Adam does, but with a level of filtering. I filter out mailing list mail to folders. I very rarely actully follow mailing lists on a day to day basis, but I do enjoy being able to work through them now and then. Also, anything addressed directly to me goes into a special folder. So in reality I end up with about 3 or 4 messages a day that are specificly for me. Everything else gets dumped on the floor and I may or may not see it.

More windows hatred
So I just lost about 3 hours of worktime by fighting with my work computer. I did something simple. I upgraded the video drivers to the latest version and everything stopped working. It sucks. Windows just bites. I know I have to deal with it for my job, but it is just so damn difficult to deal with.
