Love Hina
Bandai has put up a great page for one of my favorite anime shows, Love Hina. The first DVD of it is due to be released next week and I’m quite psyched about it.
Updated: Woohoo, it came in!
Quiz of the Month
I try and limit my quizzes to one a month. So here’s one a friend of mine did:
You are most like Basil, assaulted by bears! Created by Thren.Which Gashlycrumb Tiny are you? |
Shifty Blogging
I added in The Shifted Librarian yesterday while going through and tidying up my blogrolling list. She is always finding interesting news stories. I also think the whole concept of “Information Shifting” is kinda cool.
Friday Five
1. What was the first thing you ever cooked? I don’t think that this was the first first thing I ever made, but it is the first I remember. When I was around 11 I decided that I wanted chocolate chip cookies when mom was out shopping. So I tried making some. They would have been great except that I put in too much salt. The next batch a year or two later was much better.
2. What’s your signature dish? Hmm. I’m not sure. I’ve got a few different things I can make pretty well, but nothing specific. Chicken Francaise, Pancakes, and Grilled cheese to name a few(not all at once though). I also make a pretty kickass mac and cheese.
3. Ever had a cooking disaster? (tasted like crap, didn’t work, etc.) Describe. The cookies mentioned above were probably the worst. The funny thing was that I hid them and my mom found them a day or so later (I don’t know why I didn’t just THROW THEM AWAY). She was amused.
4. If skill and money were no object, what would you make for your dream meal? Augh, that’s a hard one. There are so many things I’d like to try making. I think I’d end up spending a week going through the various cookbooks I have. There are so many things I’d love to try. The one that most comes to mind is doing a shoulder of lamb. When I was in London for work a few years back a co-worker invited me to a dinner party he was having and served it. It was really good, it just takes quite a while to cook.
5. What are you doing this weekend? I’m not sure what’s going on this weekend. I’m thinking I may try and find some friends to hang out with tonight, then just kind of mellow over the weekend. I’ve stopped saying I’m going to try and make a mix, since that just hasn’t worked in a while. I may do a netcast though, it’s been a long time since I’ve done one.

Audiotron Need
I have decided that I want to get an Audiotron with some of my tax return. I almost picked up one last night, but Microcenter was just too expensive. Especially when I found it online for a good $40 less. I am going to order it today and hopefully have it next week.
Though now I’m wondering if I can remote control the web service.
QOTD
Steven Wright. “Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.”
In-N-Out Codes
Anyone who has lived in Southern California is familiar with In-N-Out (it’s what a hamburger’s all about). But for those of you who only visit, here’s a guide for ordering that’ll make people think you’ve been going there your whole life.
My personal favorite order is a Double Double Animal Style, hold the tomatos, fries well done, and a coke.
What a messed up world
A man shot his girlfriend because he thought she was going to say the words “New Jersey”. He also responds to other words violently, like “snickers”. Even though the article made me laugh a lot, I truely hope this guy is locked in an asylum for the rest of his life.
Bunny Death
The Bunny Survival Test page’s purpose is to determine specific weaknesses and/or strengths posessed by “Marshmallow Bunnies.” I liked the radiation tolerence test myself.
SCORPIO (Oct 23-Nov 21) – Week of February 14, 2002
Happy Valentine’s Day, Scorpio! How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. First, I love how you have desires for seemingly impossible things. It’s your most scary and winsome quality. But there are so many other weirdly adorable things about you, too. I love how you don’t run away from the cracks that open up in the world but brazenly peer into them to scope out the mysteries that lie on the other side. I love the fact that you seem to be the reincarnation of a sacred temple prostitute who is hell-bent on expressing your exotic wisdom in this profane world. I’m even delighted when you brilliantly analyze the clockwork of the universe so that you can mess with that clockwork.
